George,

Do you know anything about AltiGen MaxCS and it's compatability with VMware ESXi 5.0?

I am find it a bit tricky to get any official word from them. They say they only know that it will work on ESXi 4 and ESXi 5.1. I find it quite odd that it would work on 4 and 5.1 and not 5.0?

Please let me know if you can give any advice or help on this matter.

Thanks,
Wael.

George,

I went ahead with the upgrade to 5.1 anyways and something new came up which I am not too sure about. We are going to go for the MaxCS 7.0 Softswitch.

The requirements state that VMware ESX 4.0 or 5.1 is supported but there is an important note that states the following:

"IMPORTANT: AMD CPUs do not support the instruction set necessary for HMCP."

All our ESXi 5.1 hosts are running on AMD Opteron CPUs. Do you know anything about this? Does this mean it wont work on ESXi 5.1 because we have AMD CPUs too?

Thanks,
Wael.

That is correct. AltiGen's softswitch only works on Intel Processors not on AMD
